Here is a basic overview of what happens when you apply for the NDIS. Your Local Area Coordinator can help and guide you through every step of this process.
You will need to collect evidence of your disability, usually from a doctor or another healthcare professional.
An access request will be submitted to the NDIS.
The National Disability Insurance Agency (the people who run the NDIS) will review your access request.
You will be informed whether you can access the NDIS.
If you are eligible, we will meet with you. This is where you talk about your goals and the support need to achieve them.
You will create a plan to achieve your goals.
If your plan is approved, you will receive your budget to get the services and support that will help you achieve your goals.
